Sharing God’s Blessings

Year-end gift to strengthen our diocesan ministries

Happy Thanksgiving!  This is one of my favorite times of the year!  In addition to gathering with family and friends for Thanksgiving, in two short weeks our Church year begins anew with the First Sunday of Advent.  These weeks are a time of thanks and of hope-filled, joyful anticipation!  As we pause and reflect on the blessings we have received from our generous God and share that joy with family and friends, I ask that if you are making end of the year donations to charities, please consider including the ministries of our diocese. There are so many pastoral needs and opportunities for charitable service here that could benefit from your generosity.

As our calendar year comes to a close and you are reviewing your finances in preparation for tax reporting, I ask you again to keep our local Church, the Diocese of Metuchen, in mind.  This year, many people are finding it prudent to make their year-end gift using appreciated stock.  Of course, these gifts are tax deductible and you will avoid capital gains tax in appreciated stock gifts.  We have a Planned Giving section on our website at which might provide helpful information for you on how best to achieve your personal, financial and philanthropic goals.

Amidst this time of Thanksgiving and hope, my thoughts turn to you and in gratitude turn to our heavenly Father in prayer.  Be assured of my prayers for you and your loved ones during this time of Thanksgiving and the Advent season!  Thank you for your prayerful consideration of including us in your year-end gifts, too.

With renewed best wishes, I remain

Yours in Christ,
