Within the diocesan Department of Education, the Office of Schools assists the Bishop in providing opportunities for the people of God to be formed, informed and transformed into Disciples of Christ through the ministry of Catholic school education. Our network of Catholic schools are accredited by the nationally-recognized AdvancED School System Accreditation.

AdvancED is a school accrediting agency that conducts rigorous, on-site external reviews of PreK-12 schools and school systems to ensure academic growth.  The agency has a long history of accrediting expertise with over 100 years of knowledge and experience regarding school improvement.

Beginning in 2012, the schools in the Diocese of Metuchen began a two-year initiative that engaged teachers, parents, and students in a continuous process of evaluation, reflection, and review of educational practices.  The comprehensive self-study process involved all schools working together for the benefit of each child.

In October 2014, all schools underwent the rigorous review process by AdvancED and accreditation was granted on January 22, 2015. The implementation of the established goals began a new and exciting stage for developing educational strategies to meet the needs of all children who are enrolled in schools of the Diocese of Metuchen.
