Mount Saint Mary Academy is seeking a full-time School Counselor for the 2022-2023 school year. The counselor will support the high school’s instructional program and counseling activities consistent with the goals set by the mission and philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy. This will include counseling a caseload of students, grades 9-12, in their academic, personal, and social development. The counselor will utilize leadership, advocacy, and collaboration to promote student success; work closely with administration, faculty, and staff members; communicate effectively with parents and family members; provide preventive services; and respond to students’ needs. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and experience in high school student counseling and personnel work. The candidate should have a master’s degree in the area of school counseling or a related field. Experience working with students with learning differences, students requiring accommodations, and familiarity with standardized testing accommodations processes is preferred.
