P/T Religious Education Office Assistant
Martinsville, NJ 

This part-time assistant position is approximately 14 hours per week with up to 15-20 hours per week during sacramental celebration prep and programs.  The required hours are Monday and Tuesday 3-8pm, Thursday 11-3pm.

Some weekends and other evenings may be required for sacramental preparation. Some additional hours may be necessary to support vacation coverage.  Summer hours will be daytime and have flexibility.

Skill Requirements

The successful candidate must possess the following skills:

• Office Suite, Google sheets, Google Docs
• Familiarity with a cloud-based work environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Friendly and courteous demeanor in all public interaction

• MS Office 365 
• Publisher
• Experience in a parish setting, particularly with ParishSoft, a plus
• Experience in setting up and hosting Zoom meetings a plus
• Knowledgeable of Catholic practices

Job Description

Part-time position in Catholic parish office. The main function of this role is to provide support to the children’s Faith Formation program which currently includes 300+ students/families and 30 catechists. Additional support will be required for the sacramental years.

Responsibilities include:

• Process incoming online student registrations which include class placement and paperwork requirements. Maintain ParishSoft/electronic student database as well as hard copy files of sacramental information.
• Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and health information.
• Maintain and update program information in forms, calendars and handbooks as well as information to be used on the parish website.
• Update and manage all the sacramental records, which includes written communications, electronic updates and maintenance in the sacramental registrar.
• Respond to various inquiries from catechists and parents in a timely, gracious and respectful manner via email, in-person and by phone.
• Occasionally, cover for the parish secretary.
