The Office of Vocations sponsors a number of discernment opportunities and retreats during the year.
A day of prayer and discernment usually is held once or twice a year for men and women, ages 16-50, who are looking at the possibility of priesthood or religious life. These days generally consist of prayer, sharing and a meal.
A Project Andrew Dinner and Mass with Bishop Checchio is held for those men, high school-age and up, who feel drawn to exploring the possibility of priesthood. If you are interested, please see your parish priest who will forward your name to the Vocations Office
The objectives of the Serra Clubs of the Diocese of Metuchen are to foster and promote vocations to the Catholic priesthood and religious life, and to encourage its members to fulfill their own Christian vocation to service. The clubs work closely with the Vocation Director of the diocese in creating an overall vision of vocation awareness and ministry.
The Serra Clubs of the diocese co-sponsor the annual Life Awareness Retreat Weekend for men and women considering a vocation and they also join us for the annual Holy Hour for Vocations. In addition to this, many activities are focused within their regions and members are expected to be present at two monthly meetings.
If you wish to learn more about Serra, or are interested in becoming a member, you may contact any of the persons listed below or visit the Serra Website. They will be more than happy to assist you.
