Part-Time Music Director
St. James the Less Roman Catholic Church is a faith-based community established in 1880. Our Parish Community is dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus and furthering His mission through Word, Liturgy, Sacrament, Music, Evangelism, Religious Education, Prayer and Honoring of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The Music Director is responsible for collaborating with clergy, staff, ministry leaders, volunteers and cantor to plan and execute parish liturgies and music.
Primary responsibilities of this position include:- Providing organ music (2 manual, 21 rank tracker action pipe organ) for Saturday 4pm Vigil Mass and Sunday 10 am Mass and Holy Day Masses, as well as other liturgical services. (Director will have first right of refusal for weddings and funerals).
- Selecting and preparing music in accordance with the demands of the liturgical year, in consultation with the pastor and coordination with the cantor.
- Working cooperatively with the pastor and staff.
- Music Director will be encouraged to rebuild a volunteer choir.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in music
- Excellent proficiency at the organ
- Working knowledge of the Catholic Church’s liturgy and traditions
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Successful completion of required background checks and safety trainings
