The Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord
This will be presented in both English and Spanish.
With the need to remain at home during COVID-19, many families are struggling to reorient their lives in light of this unique situation. It is therefore an ideal time to ask questions about work, family and rest. Cristina, Director of the Office of Family Life will offer ideas for reflection and pose the question of whether COVID-19 will usher in important cultural changes.
As we celebrate the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord this week on March 25, we also mark the 25th anniversary of Pope St. John Paul II’s prophetic encyclical, The Gospel of Life (Evangelium vitae).
In his encyclical, Pope St. John Paul II invites each of us to ask ourselves how we are assisting women in need who are pregnant or have young children. He challenges us to open our hearts even wider, and to improve our responses where needed, especially at the local level—in short, to truly accompany each pregnant or parenting woman in need.
This is especially important now, as we deal with the COVID-19 reality. This session will introduce the US Bishops' new year-long initiative called "Walking with Moms in Need" and will discuss important resources and considerations for outreach during this pandemic.
Join Jennifer Riggiero, Secretary, Secretariat of Secretariat for Family and Pastoral Life in this discussion.
