Diocese of Metuchen ministry to offer hope, healing for those suffering from separation or divorce

PISCATAWAY – Men and women seeking healing from marital separation or divorce are invited to attend “Divorce Affects Everyone…It happens and it hurts.” The 12-week program, sponsored by the Diocese of Metuchen’s Office of Family Life, will be held from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, beginning Oct. 3, at the St. John Neumann Pastoral Center, 146 Metlars Ln.

The program will follow the structure of “The Catholic’s Divorce Survival Guide,” which will feature a 30-minute DVD session each week and cover the topics of: shock, denial, anger, grief, guilt, forgiveness, money, children, the courts, the ex-spouse, annulment, dating, sexuality, spirituality, re-marriage or staying single, and much more.

Based on the teachings of the Catholic Church, the program is open to people of all faiths who need comfort, counsel and clarity after a separation or divorce. The cost is $25 and pre-registration is required by Sept. 25. The program is limited to 12 participants and registrations will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
