Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I take this opportunity to express heartfelt greetings and prayerful solidarity with the Jewish people who today begin the ancient and most important Festival of Passover.
At this sacred time of year, I echo to you Pope Francis’s recent cordial greetings to the Jewish people of Rome: "May the Almighty, who has freed His beloved people from slavery and led them to the Promised Land, accompany you even today with the abundance of His blessings."
Be assured of my spiritual closeness to you in these days. As we continue to face this global pandemic, may our common commitment to the goodness of the Creator be a source of blessing and hope to people everywhere of goodwill.
Abundant blessings and peace be with you.
Most Reverend James F. Checchio, JCD, MBA
Bishop of Metuchen
