Parish Coordinators serve as a local resource for those who wish to receive information about diocesan Catholic Scouting programs. They assume this function for their own parish, or if they wish, for several parishes. They are the local contact available to Advisors, and they facilitate plans for Brownie medal presentations in the local churches.
Religious recognition programs are available to those involved in the Girl Scout Ministry. The programs reinforce formal religious instruction provided by parishes. Small groups of girls meet – separate from troop meetings – with a practicing Catholic adult. The program books, published by the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry of which the National Catholic Girl Scout Committee is a member, include guidance for Advisors and parents.
Handbooks containing the requirements to complete Catholic medal programs for Brownie, Junior, Cadette, and Senior Girl Scouts may be ordered from the Diocese of Metuchen at $6.50 per book. Checks should be payable to: 'St. John Vianney Church'. Each girl needs her own book. An application is in the back of each book. Copyright laws prohibit copying any part of the book. Handbooks can be ordered by mail or phone:
