The Office of Multicultural Ministry supports other diocesan offices, pastors, and parish leaders in ministering to culturally diverse populations throughout the diocese by understanding and meeting their unique cultural needs as Catholics, providing information and resources, educating and advising diocesan leaders, pastors and parish leaders, and the ethnic communities on respective initiatives; promoting understanding and appreciation of the rich cultural diversity and ethnic, religious traditions in the diocese; and developing practical ways to address racism in the parishes and schools and offer resources.
La Oficina de Evangelización Hispana y Ministerio Pastoral actúa en nombre del obispo para promover la participación e integración de los hispanos en la vida de la Iglesia. Esto se logra capacitando a líderes laicos, proporcionando asistencia pastoral a las parroquias, y respondiendo a las necesidades pastorales de los hispanos donde sea necesario.
This unique ministry is intended not only to aid those engaged in agriculture in our rural areas, but also to foster the spiritual formation of all the faithful of the diocese to understand the unique role those engaged in farming have in cooperating with God as they bring forth the fruits of the earth for our benefit and nourishment.
The Office of Discipleship Formation for Children is committed to applying the best Catholic theology, theory and pastoral skills to the various formation opportunities and services we provide. Through Catechesis the Church echoes and teaches the Word of God, passing on faith and tradition to adults, youth and children.
We are aware of the multicultural and multilingual reality of our Diocese, and strive to support the cultural values of the people we serve.
This office which also convenes the Diocesan Commission for Ecumenical and Interfaith Initiatives, works under the aegis of the Secretariat for Family and Pastoral Life. It exists as a result of the call for the establishment of such offices by the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity in its 1993 Directory for the Application of Principles and Norms on Ecumenism.
The Office of Family Life resources and supports ministries of welcome, formation and pastoral care for members of families, throughout the life cycle, as they strive to be disciples of the Gospel and faithful witnesses to Christ-centered life within their particular family as well as the larger families of their ecclesial community and society.
Restoring respect for human life is an essential task of the Church. Through the implementation of the diocesan Respect for Life program and activities we hope to give witness to God's truth and to embody our Lord's command to love one another as He loves us.
The Office of Youth & Young Adult Ministry accompanies and empowers those ministering to youth and young adults.
The Office of Adult Enrichment recognizes the gifts and unique needs of maturing adults and seeks to offer customized resources and programs to enhance spiritual enrichment for maturing adults through prayer, education and service.
