As we enter the season of Advent—a time of expectant waiting and preparation—the Diocese of Metuchen has received a moving message of gratitude from the Holy Land.
Thanks to the extraordinary compassion of our parishioners, our recent Gaza Emergency Collection raised a total of $44,067.43. These funds were officially received by the Financial Department of the Patriarchate on October 30, 2025, and are already being used to sustain those in desperate need.
As we prepare our hearts for the birth of the Savior, our brothers and sisters in the very land where Jesus walked are facing unimaginable hardship. This donation represents more than just financial relief; it is a spiritual bridge between Metuchen and the Holy Land, proving that even in a time of conflict, Christian charity knows no borders.
As the letter concludes, it offers a blessing for our own community: "May our Advent preparations prepare us in hope for the coming of our Saviour."
As we light our Advent candles this year, let us keep the people of the Holy Land in our prayers, knowing that through our collective action, we have brought a light of hope to those living in darkness.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this vital collection. Your generosity is a testament to the living faith of the Diocese of Metuchen.
