Vicariate for Evangelization and Communication
The Vicariate for Evangelization and Communication is essential to how we expand our efforts to share the Gospel message and make His love known to all.
While our discipleship is to always find new ways to bring His love and the Good News of Jesus Christ we are now called to do more for the Lord and each other. This year, we have seen a large increase in the use of virtual means to connect and engage with one another.
Your gift to the Bishop’s Annual Appeal will allow us to continue to journey with others, even if we are physically apart, to make the Good News and His love known to all because that is what will see us through.

Seminarian Formation
Even during these uncertain times, we are committed to providing these men with quality formation opportunities that prepare them to attend to the spiritual and pastoral needs of the faithful—which have only increased in the wake of the pandemic.
It is a blessing that we have 26 men currently studying for the priesthood and, with God’s grace, the number will be growing. With this blessing, there are challenges to address; that is, the expense of educating and preparing our seminarians to become future priests. It requires a sizable investment to educate the future leaders of our parishes.

Catholic Charities
Your generosity and sacrificial gift to the Bishop’s Annual Appeal helps to ensure that no one is left homeless, hungry, or without emotional support in these extremely difficult times.
The devastating global pandemic of 2020 caused the loss of countless lives, widespread critical illness and has impacted every family around the world in so many ways. The important work of Catholic Charities could not and did not stop during this time.
Requests for basic services such as food, shelter and clothing increased and the staff at Catholic Charities truly lived out the Corporal Works of Mercy. Rental assistance and housing support continued, and tele-health provided a safe option for those in need of counseling or addiction services. Throughout the pandemic, Catholic Charities’ program of assertive community treatment teams is still providing psychiatric services and delivering food and medication to their clients with serious and persistent mental illness.
