 Cemetery Superintendent

The Diocese of Metuchen is seeking a full-time Cemetery Superintendent. The Cemetery Superintendent reports to the Diocesan Director of Cemeteries and is responsible for the daily operations and maintenance issues that affect the two Diocesan cemeteries and crematory, including but not limited to hiring of grounds men, department budget preparation and oversight, and equipment and supply purchase and distribution. Must be able to implement and follow OSHA regulations for safety.

The ideal candidate will possess an Associate’s degree from college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of cemetery rules and regulations involving burial, entombment, and inurnment procedures in accordance with industry standards. Experience with tools, equipment, and procedures used in grounds maintenance work is also necessary. Valid Driver’s License is required.

 Part-Time (19 hrs.) Associate Director

The Office of Pontifical Mission Societies at the Diocese of Metuchen is seeking a part-time (19 hrs.) Associate Director. The Associate Director is primarily responsible for planning and coordinating special programs that endorse the work of the missionaries, including but not limited to, World Mission Sunday and Annual Mission Reach-Out, visiting schools and religious education programs to address teacher/student groups in order to inform and promote the work of the missionaries, and researching and implementing new methods of bringing awareness to parishes of the duties of missionaries.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree (B.A.), or have one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience and some missionary experience.

Religious Requirement:  Must be a practicing Roman Catholic who upholds the teaching and traditions of the Catholic Church and who possesses a sound working knowledge of the Catholic faith and Church hierarchy.

 Parish and School Development Director - Somerville, NJ

Immaculata Conception Parish, located in Somerville, New Jersey, is seeking an experienced, full-time Development Director to serve both the parish and its fully accredited co-educational pre-K through 12th grade parish schools of approximately 1000 students. In partnership with the pastor and principals, this position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive plan encompassing the Annual Appeal, Capital Campaign, Planned Giving, donor/alumni relations, special events and growing the schools endowment. 

Qualified candidate will have experience in fundraising, excellent writing and oral communication skills and be deeply committed to catholic education. He or she must be a Catholic in good standing with a theological understanding of Christian stewardship and the Catholic faith. A Bachelors degree in a relevant field and experience in Catholic education fundraising preferred. Position available July 1st, 2015.
