 Bi-Lingual (Spanish) Administrative Assistant - Department of Family Life/Office for Hispanic Ministry

The Department of Family Life and Office of Hispanic Ministry at the Diocese of Metuchen is seeking a Bi-Lingual (Spanish) Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant is primarily responsible for translating (English/Spanish) correspondence, program materials and other information for the department; providing administrative support and overseeing general office affairs; drafting routine correspondence to priests, deacons, facilitators and program participants as directed; assisting in developing materials (English and Spanish), such as brochures and pamphlets, for presentations and workshops.

The ideal candidate will possess an Associate's Degree or have one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Religious Requirement:  Must be a practicing Roman Catholic who upholds the teaching and traditions of the Catholic Church and who possesses a sound working knowledge of the Catholic faith and Church hierarchy.

 Temporary Position - Cemetery Maintenance Worker - Office of Cemeteries

The Office of Cemeteries seeks an individual to perform general maintenance, landscaping and excavation duties.

The ideal candidate will be reliable and dependable, able to perform manual labor, be able to work some weekend/overtime shifts, and have a familiarity with operating heavy machinery and equipment.  Parish and School Development Director - Somerville, NJ

Immaculate Conception Parish, located in Somerville, New Jersey, is seeking an experienced, full-time Development Director to serve both the parish and its fully accredited co-educational pre-K through 12th grade parish schools of approximately 1,000 students. In partnership with the pastor and principals, this position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive plan encompassing the Annual Appeal, Capital Campaign, Planned Giving, donor/alumni relations, special events and growing the schools endowment. 

Qualified candidates will have experience in fundraising, excellent writing and oral communication skills and be deeply committed to Catholic education. He or she must be a Catholic in good standing with a theological understanding of Christian stewardship and the Catholic faith. A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and experience in Catholic education fundraising preferred. Position available July 1, 2015.

 Parish Receptionist (Part-Time) - Far Hills, NJ

St. Elizabeth-St. Brigid Parish is seeking a part-time Parish Receptionist, Monday through Friday. Salary range is $15 to $17.50, depending on experience. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Compiling and preparing the weekly bulletin for publication by Monday afternoon for Pastor’s approval; updating bulletin to parish website, Parishes Online, and Catholic Web
  • Preparing intake forms for baptisms, weddings, and funerals; liturgy programs; and flyers
  • Maintaining Mass intentions and schedules; prepare Mass cards as requested; collect and record stipends, and prepare stipends for deposit
  • Recording and collecting donations for the Altar Bread, Altar Wine, and Sanctuary Candles; recording donations and preparing both the certificates and the announcements for the bulletin
  • Answering phone calls and routing calls to the appropriate person; forwarding messages as necessary
