 Temporary Position - Cemetery Maintenance Worker - Office of Cemeteries

The Office of Cemeteries seeks an individual to perform general maintenance, landscaping and excavation duties.

The ideal candidate will be reliable and dependable, able to perform manual labor, be able to work some weekend/overtime shifts, and have a familiarity with operating heavy machinery and equipment.  Cemetery Office Manager - Piscataway, NJ - Office of Cemeteries

Presently, we are seeking an Office Manager who will be responsible for organizing and coordinating the Cemetery Office operations.  This position reports to the Director of Cemeteries; primary duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Analyzes and organizes office operations and procedures such as bookkeeping, information management, filing systems, requisition of supplies and other functions.
  • Maintains records and HMIS application accurately with respect to inventory of crypts and graves in both Resurrection and Holy Cross Burial Parks; Prepares and delivers data reports utilizing HMIS application.
  • Receives calls from funeral directors and schedules burials and entombments for Resurrection and Holy Cross Burial Parks.
  • Works closely with the Director, Cemetery Superintendent and maintenance staff to arrange the scheduling of burials; properly assigns at-need plots and mausoleum crypts and confirms arrangements with funeral directors.
  • Collects, records and deposits all monies for both diocesan burial parks (burials, letterings, vases, emblems, payments on graves and crypts).
  • Answers all calls to the Office of Cemeteries and the Sales office; Refers service requests and customer complaints to the respective member of staff.
  • Processes account payable bills for payment.
  • Demonstrates appropriate consolation and empathy to callers and visitors, representing the Diocese in a caring manner.
  • Performs other duties as required.

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and customer service skills, be highly proficient in the use of technology (MS Office applications and HMIS), and demonstrate a high degree of accuracy with respect to recordkeeping.  Additional qualifications include the following:

  • Must be a practicing Roman Catholic who upholds the teaching and traditions of the Catholic Church and who possesses a sound working knowledge of the Catholic faith and Church hierarchy
  • Bachelors Degree

Major Responsibilities---- Serves as the chief administrative officer with overall responsibility for management of school

  • Oversees the fiscal, marketing, advancement and facilities plans
  • Acts in unison with the principal to uphold the highest academic standards
  • Implements the Strategic Plan and provides  a vision and long-term development plan for the school
  • Serves as the chief spokesperson and promotes the school to internal and external audiences

Children's Choir Director - St. Andrew's Parish - Avenel, NJ
