The Office of Hospital Chaplaincy serves the Bishop by overseeing the effective pastoral care of the sick, especially those in secular hospitals and health care institutions in the diocese’s four counties.

The office also provides support to chaplains and parish personnel who are engaged in ministry to the sick. Through the office, hospital chaplains are assigned to visit the sick in

Saint Peter's University Hospital, McCarrick Care Center, JFK, Hunterdon, Raritan Bay and Somerset Medical Centers, as well as Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hackettstown Community Hospital, Old Bridge Regional Hospital and Warren Hospital.

In addition, chaplains minister to those in the Woodbridge State School, Carrier Clinic, Hunterdon Development Center, N.J. State Hospital for Geriatrics, U.S. Veterans Medical Center, Roosevelt Hospital and the N.J. State Home for Disabled Veterans.
