 Director of Development

We are searching for a dynamic Director of Development who possesses outstanding communications abilities, vision and superb managerial skills to direct the Office of Development. The person will advise the Executive Director of Stewardship and Development on fund raising policy efforts, including the Bishop's Annual Appeal, the Foundation for Catholic Education, The Catholic Center at Rutgers and six endowment funds seeking grants for the overall funding of the mission of the Diocese of Metuchen. In addition the director will oversee four fund raising events. The candidate will be a consultant to parishes of the diocese regarding capital campaigns and increased offertory programs.

The successful candidate will be a practicing Roman Catholic with a Bachelor's Degree preferably in Business Administration or a relative field. Candidates should have a minimum of five years of experience in planning and administering fund raising programs, supervising staff and working with volunteer groups. Previous church work experience is highly recommended and desirable. Experience with planned giving, major gifts over $25K, Corporations, Foundations annual and capital campaigns is essential.

Additional qualifications include: ability to work with individual, corporate and foundation donors. The position involves interaction with senior diocesan officers and high level volunteer leadership.

 Director of Multi-Cultural Ministry

Our Department of Pastoral Life is currently seeking a Director of Multi-Cultural ministry who will serve as the liaison between the Bishop and ethnic communities by providing him with recommendations and information regarding key concerns, issues and activities. Principle job duties and responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the primary contact to diocesan staff, parish representatives and leaders of ethnic communities on all matters related to cultural diversity.
  • Assist pastors and parish leaders with program planning related to the integration of multi-cultural groups in their parishes, particularly with respect to shared parish models.
  • Develop and direct strategies that promote inclusion and recognition of the cultural diversity present in the diocese.
  • Maintain regular contact with various ministry leaders through meetings, program attendance, phone and electronic communications; consult with and advise diocesan leaders in responding to the respective issues and concerns related to the Multi-cultural communities.
  • Undertake research studies to identify trends and developments within multi-cultural communities.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a practicing Roman Catholic who upholds the teaching and traditions of the Catholic Church and who possesses a sound working knowledge of the Catholic faith and Church hierarchy
  • Master’s degree (M. A.) in Pastoral Ministry, Religious Studies, or Theology
  • Minimum five years of experience in parish/diocesan ministry or an equivalent mix of education and experience
  • Practical experience and working knowledge of multi-cultural issues and trends; special or advanced study in cultural diversity beneficial

 Director of Liturgical Formation

We are seeking a Director of Liturgical Formation who will create, plan and implement programs on all aspects of worship for priests, deacons and liturgical ministers, and to promote excellent and uniform liturgical standards to parishes by providing resources and training to liturgical ministers.

 Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Design, coordinate and conduct workshops and programs that provide formation and training to liturgical ministers on sacraments, music ministry, extraordinary ministers and readers, funeral liturgies, homiletics, etc. 
  • Coordinate training on liturgical changes as promulgated by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops or the Vatican
  • Edit and publish a quarterly worship newsletter, Lift Up Your Hearts, to include timely articles and information about liturgical practices for distribution to all priests, deacons and other liturgical ministers
  • Develop and write guidelines that outline the diocesan norms and guidance on acceptable liturgical practice for various aspects of worship
  • Provide training on liturgy and ritual for parish liturgical coordinators, committees, ministers and diocesan offices
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of certain liturgies throughout the year

Professional Abilities:  The successful candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communications skills (bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus), outstanding organizational abilities, strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to achieve objectives on multiple projects running simultaneously. 

Religious Requirement:  Must be a practicing Roman Catholic who upholds the teaching and traditions of the Church and who possesses a sound working knowledge of the Catholic faith and Church hierarchy.

Education/Experience:  Master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry, Theology, Sacred Music or related subject, or a Master’s of Divinity degree from recognized graduate university or seminary; minimum of five years experience in liturgical preparation or liturgical ministry.

McAuley Hall Health Care Center, Watchung, NJ

The Administrator role is a full time position responsible for the overall administration, management and organizational planning for the seventy-four (74) bed licensed skilled nursing facility. The Administrator of McAuley Hall Health Care Center is responsible for the overall administration, management and organizational planning for the facility under the direction of the Board of Trustees. The Administrator oversees and directs the daily operations to assure that compassionate, quality care and safety for the residents is delivered. This role is responsible for developing policies, procedures, and practices as necessary for a licensed facility in order to align with local, state and federal regulatory compliance. Directly supervises the Director of Nursing, Activities Director, Food Service Manager, Social Services Director, Maintenance Director, Finance, and Administrative Assistant.

Qualifications include: Licensed by the State of New Jersey as a Nursing Home Administrator in good standing; or licensed and in good standing through another State with a reciprocal arrangement; a minimum of three (3) years experience as an Administrator and a minimum of five (5) years experience in Long Term Care. A Master's degree in Healthcare or Administration from an accredited college or university is required. Knowledge of current federal and state regulations pertaining to long term care, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and LTC MDS and RUG scores required.

 Part Time Staff Accountant

Holy Savior Academy, South Plainfield, NJ

Holy Savior Academy is presently seeking a Staff Accountant who will be responsible for Financial Administration of the School including all aspects of Cash Management, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, Payroll, General Ledger Accounting, Budgeting, Financial Reporting and Human Resources.Principle job duties and responsibilities include:

  • Support Principal in the Financial Management and Administration of the School.
  • Establish a system of internal controls to safeguard assets and to ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial activity.
  • Perform the day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, billing, cash receipts and collections, payroll, fixed asset records, general accounting, bank reconciliations and human resource administration.
  • Coordinate all aspects of payroll processing with payroll service, Paychex. 
  • Develop, improve and issue timely monthly financial reports for Principal and Board of Trustees.
  • Assist in annual budget development including preparation of Diocesan Budget Package.
