“Metuchen,” a Native American word for fire, encapsulates the mission of the Office of Evangelization, which is to spread the fire of God’s love to all people. Jesus Himself said that He had “come to cast fire upon the earth” and wished that “it were already blazing” (Luke 12:49).  So do we!

The role of our office is to continue the work He entrusted to the Church 2,000 years ago but with newness in terms of the “methods, ardor and expressions” used. We serve both individuals and parishes, the clergy and laity alike, and invite all to a renewed encounter with Jesus Christ so that His desire for the earth to be set ablaze with His love becomes a reality!
